Chance Farm 2024 CSA Membership

Build a closer connection with your food.

When you become a Chance Farm CSA member, not only will you get a weekly box of the freshest, tastiest, seasonal food from our fields, you'll be a part of something bigger -- creating a secure local food network for our community. We invite you to become a member of our CSA and let us be your farmers.

How It Works

Become a CSA Member by purchasing a share in advance of the 2024 season. In return, you get 18 weeks of our high-quality, vegetables carefully grown, and harvested by us.

As a CSA member, know you are helping close the loop in our community. In our growing practices, we use compost from Happy Trash Can Curbside Composting as a soil amendment.  All their compost is made with 100% collected food scraps from local businesses and households.

Plus, you will receive:

  • A weekly newsletter about what’s happening on the farm, the vegetables in your share, recipes, storage tips and our “get to know your farmer” series

  • A CSA Member Appreciation Day which includes a tour of the farm & a potluck where you will learn about where your food comes from and meet your farmers

  • Multiple pickup sites and the option for home delivery

  • A variety of other local products periodically included in your share such as : rhubarb, flathead cherries, sweet corn, Kimm’s Organic potatoes, pickles by Roots Kitchen & Cannery and other value added items created by local producers

  • The option to add-on other local products like Black Dog Farm Eggs, Furrow & Fly English Muffins, SporeAttic Mushrooms or Black Dog Farm Pork Sausage & Belcrest Farms Ground Beef

  • Fresh, seasonal, local produce that you can trust

Your early support of the farm helps us purchase seeds, supplies, and pay our farm crew a living wage in the first 5 months of the year, setting us up to grow our best produce for you!

What is a CSA?

Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) connects individuals and local farms in a mutually supportive relationship. “When individuals pay their membership fees upfront, CSAs guarantee that the farmer has enough financial backing to meet harvest demands, while the customer receives fresh produce directly from the source…"

"Supporting community farms is imperative to keep them as just that: in the community. It’s vital for our local economy, sustainable for all involved, and requires less thought than a trip to the grocery store—it’s all decided for you.” Source

FAQs

  • We follow organic practices, but are not yet certified. We began farming at Rocky Road in 2022 and are working towards Organic Certification. To our knowledge, no sprays have been used on the property since at least 2015.

  • Last year our half share was by and large our most popular share. We want to provide an affordable share to a larger community of members and streamline our processes, while still keeping to our ethos of quality over quantity.

This years share is equivalent to our half share last year, plus 1 extra item per week.

If you feel that the share is too large, we suggest asking a friend or coworker to split it with you!

  • A Chance Farm CSA share is $498.
